ADDITIONAL LECTURE TOPIC
What Does it Mean to be Gay, Anyway,
-Young Americans Are Playing By New Rules
Denizet-Lewis, a gay culture expert who has spent much of the last decade traveling the country writing about sexuality and gender, offers a dynamic lecture about how young people are radically changing what it means to be “gay” in America. Whether they’re coming out at 14, getting hitched at 22, or proudly claiming labels like “bisexual” and “open minded,” young Americans with same-sex attractions are increasingly living lives devoid of the shame, compartmentalization, and psychological distress common to previous generations of gays and lesbians.
